Homeware happiness 💙

Bit of a different one over here at collars and frills but I've been going through a huge homeware binge. So I thought I'd show you what I've been buying and how happy they've made me. I'm a sucker for all things cute or quirky when it comes to my homeware so these items I couldn't resist. I've also done a really awful DIY job you'll see when you get to it but here we go.
So it's no secret I'm a huge lover of lush bath products in fact I can't have a bath without one and let's face it the products are so cute. So I thought they needed to on show in my room so I bought a cake stand. Yes a cake stand Leanne have you gone mad nope I'm just trying to be arty. The cake stand I bought was a create your own one from my local vintage fair.
The top is a little teacup how cute. I love it so much. Although when I bought it I didn't think about what would fit inside it but hey it's cute. It only cost me £10 too, it was such a bargain.

Next up, I've got a bit crazy for drinking cups. Story behind these so I bought a mason jar glass, which I have wanted for the longest time. Because they're adorable and I went on a day trip with my boyfriend and saw a mint green one and just had to buy it. It was £3 so I really didn't mind paying for it. However I think into b&m and they were on sale for 69p the exact same cup. Safe to day I wasn't a happy bunny but I now own four anyway. Every cloud though, every cloud.
On the theme of glasses when I was on my hunt for mason jars I bought some plastic milk bottle cups from Home Bargains these were only 99p each and will be super cute in summer. They come in ice cream pastel shades. I picked up the a mint green and a lilac one but may go back for the other two colours.
Whilst in B&M buying my mason jars I picked up a cookie jar with closing lid in China blue the jar also has a sweet glass heart feature. I'm currently using it in my room to store cotton wool pads because I really don't like the plastic packaging they usually come in,I find it awkward to open and awkward to get the cotton wool out of.
These were £1.99 each or 3 for £5 I would of bought 3 if they were available but unfortunately this was the last available in my local store.

In the theme of using things not for there purpose. I use teacups and saucers to store my make up brushes on my desk they look really quirky and keep them all together so sweet. This teacup with the saucer was from a vintage store for £3.50.

Lastly here is my really bad DIY. Okay so for my DIY I asked my nan to save any empty jars she has. I love jars for storing everything and anything I even use one for cotton buds. With the jars I save and display I tie some burgundy ribbon around the rim and then they look sweet and even more quirky. My bad DIY envolves one of my nans jars and a pack of fairy lights.
This is what it looks like off.
This is when it's on I realise this really isn't amazing DIY but I think they make such cute little lamps and they're so cheap and simple.

Give me any of your cute home inspo.

O.O.T.D swinging sixties

Keeping the sixties alive is one of my strong beliefs I love all things sixties. But mostly the clothes last weekend I went to my local vintage fair and its safe to say I went a bit crazy. I picked up a few adorable clothing items along with a few other bits and pieces. So today I thought I'd do an outfit of the day with a couple of items I bought.
I picked up this gorgeous sixties dress for £20 and the shirt underneath for £7. I love bright vivid colours so they both stood out to me instantly. The price they were I couldn't leave them.
This is an up close shot of the details on the shirt and dress. How cute are they?!

Lastly is my favourite shoes I own. I saw these at a vintage stall in Camden in London for £15 and I just could not leave them I've had them for about 3 years now and they're still as adorable as ever if slightly battered but that just adds to their charm.
Let me know your favourite clothes era.

Make up Monday: Concealer Don't Feel.

So I've officially finished university, where's the time gone. Sorry that everything has been a bit here there and everywhere over here just recently but now normal schedule shall be resumed which means welcome back make up Monday. Yay!
Today I'm going to talk about my favourite concealers and why. As you can probably tell from the name had to throw a bit of my Disney love it somewhere.
So I'm pretty sure I've said before I don't wear foundation. So I love and need a good coverage concealer to banish those dark circles and blemishes. I've tried a lot of different concealers in my make up wearing time but I've now got three that are my serious go tos. You'll probably be shocked to find out it's not the collection lasting perfection. I do have this concealer but it doesn't do much for me at all I find it almost too cakey I don't know if this is just me, please tell me its not. I also find the packaging goes really flakey and that really annoys me if I'm honest. I'm ridiculously pale I look like I could be Caspar the friendly ghosts cousin in all seriousness so I do struggle to find colour matches however I have and I could not be happier.

Number one is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. This little beauty is not only cheap it's perfect for covering my dark circles. It's a very dewy look which I love as it makes me look refreshed and awake which is perfect for long days when I'm super tired and just recently I have been due to late night uni work and deadlines. This concealer has almost become my best friend through these times it's a medium coverage id say. So if you're looking for super coverage this probably Isn't for you but it works for me and I love it a lot. I wear the lightest shade in Ivory.
Number 2: if you're looking for a super strong coverage concealer look now further than this next little beauty. I picked this up on a whim when boots were doing two for £8 on Seventeen products I saw it and thought I'd give it a try. I've wanted to try Benefits Erase Paste and Boing concealer for a long time but I had never tried a concealer without a doe foot applicatier so I got number seventeen Phwoarr Paint to give it a whirl . This concealer is so durable it's seriously long lasting and incredible. I can not sing this products praises anymore it's safe to say I'll be saving my money and buying this little beauty instead of splashing out on Benefit products. The packaging has a mirror so perfect for the girl on the go, or the girl whose running late and needs to her make up on the bus. I wear the colour Fair which matches my skin tone really well you don't need a brush to blend it, it even works well as a eyeshadow base. A little goes a very long way with this one. Just give it a try it's incredible.
Lastly number 3: is a concealer that's had a lot of hype behind it. I really love to get other peoples opinions on products as being a student I hate spending money on stuff I don't like make up wise. So other bloggers opinions are always valued. It's the Maybelline Eraser Eye. I saw this on a YouTube video and was instantly intrigued by this product. If you don't know the product has a sponge on the end. Yes you read right a sponge the product is dispensed through a sponge at first I must of wasted an awful lot of product getting used to this way of applying product. However now that I'm used to it I love it. It's so easy to apply just one quick swipe under each each  gives you just enough product and it blends super quickly. It says it's an anti ageing product granted I'm only 21 so don't need this side of the product just yet but it's one everyone should try it's such a strong coverage. I wear the colour light which again blends with my skin tone really well. It can be slightly messy as you can probably see below on my photo.
Please tell me if there is any other concealers I should give a go I'm always looking for new products to try.

Shoes shoes shoes.

A fashion post on a Monday. What Leanne are you mad? No I just aren't sticking to my rota until next week. Sorry it's just this post couldn't wait!  Okay so I'm slightly obsessed with shoes. It's no secret I really just love shoes and I've been really naughty with buying shoes the past few weeks. Oops? It's not an oops is it? Is it my debit card probably thinks so!

Okay let's get to it then shall we? The first pair where not a want but a need. (Slightly restricting the urge to sing high school musical.) I saw these in Topshop they are just the single most beautiful things I've ever seen and they were in the sale. How could I not buy them?
Just look at them, they're just my favourite things. They were down to £20 absolute bargain. I fell in love the colour of them they said they were nude but I feel like they're like blush pink colour they're extremely vintage looking and perfect paired with a tea dress. Cute cute cute.

Second pair, these probably won't be too everyone's taste but they are most definitely to mine. They were from the Asos sale so again they were a complete bargain. I paid £21 for them. Now I'm much more of a flats girl mostly for when I'm at university or driving. So these flats were just needed.
Yes they are suit styled lowfers. What can I say I love the cute quirky design of them. They're super comfortable and due to being monochrome match pretty much my whole wardrobe. They were a win win purchase really. They were really just too cute to leave which is a bad excuse I know. They were to replace some rose gold loafers I bought also of Asos that on the website looked perfect in person were just not my cup of tea at all however if I'd have seen these first I've of got these for sure.

Lastly are a pair I bought a while ago but they seem to be everywhere now and that's these from new look.
I just love these shoes. I'm a huge Mary Jane girl but these just really stood out time the second I saw them online. I adore the lace up detail and the fleeks of gold on them. Usually I'm not a huge fan of gold but the gold on these is just the right amount it's not too in your face. I also love that they have a zip up the back because they're really easy to slip on and off. I always get compliments on these shoes most people call them my pixie shoes which I love because you know I'm a sucker for a fairytale.

Facts from a commuting university student.

Okay so here it goes, exactly a week from today will be my last ever day at university. I can safely say the past three years have been some of the best I've ever had. I'm not going to lie and say there hasn't been bad days, weeks or months because there has and I guess there always will be because that's life. Three years ago I made the choice to commute to university as if I'm honest and this still stands now I had to much to leave behind. But we won't go into a the details of that. I chose to stay at home and go to a university which is a 15 minute drive from my house. Now here's the a thing about me that most people will find odd, I don't drink or go 'up town' It's just not me I prefer watching films with my incredible boyfriend. So imagine how petrified I was on my first day thinking I was going to be the weird none drinking commuting girl, I was wrong to scared really wrong. So there's a few things I wanted to share with you guys about my amazing university experience some good points and a few bad:

1:procrastination is not the key and never the answer. I'm probably the queen of procrastination I always leave things to the last minute but you shouldn't take it from me it's never good.

2:As a drama student you'll do some crazy crazy things like currently I'm rolling around in sand for a set but hey it's all experience isn't it.

3. You will find yourself at uni. How you like to dress and present yourself before uni I slightly dressed in my collars and frills way but nowhere near as much as I do know and I'm proud that I found myself and I'm finally starting to feel comfortable.

4.You think college is hard. Uni is harder but that's all the fun of it. Deadlines are daunting but always achieved if you believe in yourself.

And lastly number 5: You will meet some incredible people. I can honestly say I've met some of the greatest people ever at university. Being that weird commuting girl I can honestly say hand on heart I thought I wouldn't make friends. But boy oh boy was I wrong. I have made a best friends for life who I've shared some amazing memories. I won't be able to tell them this face to face because to put it bluntly I'll just cry so hopefully you're reading this. You guys have made my experience so special and everyone one of you means so much to me. ( slightly crying whilst writing this.) But truth be told I don't know how I'm going to cope knowing you're not like 5 minutes away, you seen me at my lowest and that's not just because I feel out of a binand you've seen me at my best.  I'm going to have to stop because this is breaking my heart slightly. You have truly made my experience better than I ever thought thank you to each and every one of you.

Hope you don't mind me poping this photo on first year photos.

Make up Monday:New favourite Mascara.

Look at me getting back on track its make up Monday ladies and gents. My posts will be a tiny bit here, there and everywhere for a few weeks as I'm coming up to the end of my university degree so I'm really busy. But here we go. A couple of months ago I got a sample of what has become my holy grail mascara in a magazine. At the time I hated it like,I really hated it.  I didn't think it did anything for me whatsoever. But I'm a firm believer in second chances so I tried again with it and now it's my favourite mascara ever in existence and believe me I have tried a lot of mascaras. What is this holy grail mascara I here you ask?
It's Benefits Roller Lash. I can not sing this products praises anymore. Okay it's a little on the pricey side coming in a £19.50 a time. However I got mine from Feel Unique because at the moment they're giving you £25 worth of credit for £15 on groupon. You're welcome. But it's still steep. Firstly the packaging for this is the most darling packaging I've ever seen.
Look at the cuteness of this. This packaging really floats my boat. It's vintage, pink and the typography is adorable. Just cute cute cute. Secondly the brush is a plastic applicator it catches every lash perfectly. I've said before I have round blue eyes and my eyelashes aren't that short but the extension this mascara gives my lashes is incredible. It doesn't flake down my face throughout the day which is a problem I have a lot with mascara. It's meant for curling and it holds its curl all day. Goodbye eyelash curlers. I'm so glad I've given it a second chance because well I adore it. If the price is a little steep for you Seventeen do an amazing dupe of this mascara called doll'd up the packaging for that is just as cute and the product isn't as good but it's a pretty close second. It comes in a whole thirteen pounds cheaper as well so it's a bargain.
All I can say is give these a try. If probably try doll'd up first to see if you like it but they're both now my holy grail mascaras.
